GERBER OTONIEL PEROBAL CASTAÑON Gerber is a shy 4 year old Kindergartner with an older brother and older sister. His dad passed away a year after he was born so his mom works extremely hard to take care of the family. He is a nurse's helper. When he grows up he wants to "take care of teeth". He wants to learn how to write well, and when he has times he loves to play.

LUIS LACAN is a serious 6 year old young boy who wants to be like his dad. We can all understand why – no matter the trials, he always has a smile on his face. He is a very kind and loving father who can neither read or write. Neither can his wife. Last year in Prepa Luis made the Honor Roll each bimester! He has two brothers, his favorite color is black, and he loves cornflakes whenever he can get them.

NELLY RUBÍ FURLÁN JACOBO is a quiet 6 year old Prepa student who likes to make her teacher happy. Her favorite class is math. Her favorite color is yellow and when she isn't in school she likes to play with her two older sisters. Her mom takes care of the home and her dad sells things in the market.

ANGIE ALEJANDRA QUIÑONEZ MEDINA is a 6 year old who doesn't have any brothers or sisters so her favorite class is PE because it gives her a chance to play with her classmates. When she grows up she wants to be a baby doctor. Her mom takes care of the home and her dad sells meat. When she isn't in school she likes to help her mom clean the house.

ASHLY DANIELA LETICIA ALONZO CUÁ is a quite shy 6 year old First Grader with an older sister who is the complete opposite. When she grows up she wants to have a dog, and wants to be a nurse's helper like her mom. But, she also wants to work with computers. Her dad is a metalworker. When Ashly isn't studying she likes to help her mom take care of the house. Ashly works hard in school and always gets great grades. She likes to go to church with her mom and family.

MIRIAM NEFERTITI CUÁ GONZÁLES is a lively 6 year old girl in First-Grade who is used to being the center of attention because she is the youngest of 6 children - with 5 older brothers. Her mother takes care of the home and her dad sews clothes. Her favorite class is music and when she grows up she wants to be a nurse. When she isn'#t at school she loves to play with her dolls. Her favorite color is yellow. Her mom and dad know the importance of education and do all they can to make sure their children are learning and that they will one day all study in the university. Miriam likes to go to church with her family on Sundays.

JAVIER ALBERTO VELAGODINEZ is a quite 6 year old First-Grader with an older sister. His mom takes care of the home, and his dad drives a bus. Javier loves music and one day wants to be able to play the piano and guitar. When he isn't at school he likes to play with friends. When he is older he wants a cat "because they are pretty". His goal this year is to learn to read really well because he loves books.

LUISA JIMENA MARCELA DOMINGO JUÁREZ is a quiet 6 year old First-Grader who loves to read and play school at home. When she grows up she wants to be a doctor or she wants to be a painter. Her mom takes care of the home and her dad is a guard in a bank. She has one brother and one sister and she likes to spend time with them. Her favorite color is red, and her favorite food is salad.

KEVIN DENILSSON CHOC PER has an older brother and older sister. His dad is a metal worker and his mom takes care of the home. When he grows up he wants to drive a bus. When he isn't studying at school, he likes to study athome. His favorite class is PE because he gets to play soccer. On Sundays he likes to go to church with his family. His favorite color is blue and his favorite food is chicken. He is a very sweet and gentle and serious young boy.

ERWIN ADOLFO CUXIL GONZALES is a serious, yet delightful, Second-Grader who likes to study. In fact when he isn't studying at school, he likes to study at home. He also likes to play with his two sisters and his brother. He has three favorite colors – red, grey and white. His favorite food is chicken. His dad is a gardner and his mom takes care of the home.

WENDY YOLANDA XICAY AJUCHÁN is the youngest of five girls. Her family is extremely poor. Her mother takes care of the home and her father daily looks for work in the fields. Her favorite class is English and when she grows up she wants to be a policewoman. She is currently in Second Grade. She likes PE because she likes to play.

ANDREA MISHEL FURLÁN JACOBO has two brothers and one sister. Her mother works at home and her dad sells in the market. She is in Third-Grade and her favorite class is language and when she grows up she wants to be a Kindergarten teacher. When she isn't studying she likes to play school. If she could be an animal she would be a rabbit and eat all day. Her favorite food is pizza which she rarely gets to eat. Andrea is a sweet gentle girl who is quite serious but at the same time she likes to smile and laugh.

ANA VALESKA LETICIA DOMINGO JUÁREZ has one brother and one sister. Her mom works at home and her dad is a guard in a bank. When she grows up she wants to be a vet, and if she could be an animal she would be a leopard and so have lots of spots. She loves to eat meat when she can, and she loves the color purple. She loves Third-Grade because she feels more grown-up.

JONATHAN DAVID AJSIVINAC ORDOÑEZ Jonathan's mom works at home and his dad is a day laborer and so looks for work each day. He has two brothers. If he could be an animal he would be a dog and run and walk all over but still be able to find his way home. When he isn't studying in his Third-Grade class, he likes to help his mom at home. When he grows up he wants to be an astronaut and go to the United States. His favorite food is chicken, and his favorite color is yellow.

JESSICA BOCEL is a very smart girl who is enjoying Third-Grade. Her favorite class is language and when she grows up she wants to be a doctor. She has six step-sisters and a new dad. When she isn't studying she likes to play with her sisters. Her favorite food is salad. She likes to attend church with her family, and she loves to read. Jessica plays and works hard and has a good sense of balance in her life.

WILSON DAVID CHOC PER wants to drive buses when he is older. His favorite Third-Grade class is computer, his favorite color is red, and his favorite food is tomato. When he isn't studying he loves to draw and paint, and play with his brother and sister. His dad drives buses and his mom works at home. Wilson is a sweet child who is kind and helpful in class. He is always at the top of his class and on the honor roll.

ENMA STEPHNE JULAH BATZ is a sweet 8th grader who wants to be an architect when she grows up. Her favorite classes are mathematics and English. Her favorite food is spaghetti and her favorite color is blue. One day she would love to visit Venice, Italy and sail down the streets. If she could be an animal she would be a seal and spend all her time in the water. She has five sisters and would love a brother. When she isn't studying she loves to spend time with them. Her stepmother has a small food store, and her dad is an electrician.

ALDO ALEXIS PORON XICAY and his brother and sister are being raised by their mom. Their dad abandoned them many years ago. When Aldo grows up he wants to be a pilot. His favorite class is music and his favorite color is black. His favorite thing to do is study and for that reason he is almost always on the Honor Roll.

BRAYAN ALEXANDER XICAY AJUCHÁN would be a lion if he could because they are the king of the jungle. His favorite class is mathematics and when he is not studying he likes to play with his three brothers and his sister. His dad is a day laborer and his mother takes care of the home.

MIGUEL ANGEL SALOMON YAX has three older brothers and he loves to spend time with them. When he grows up he wants to be a soldier. If he were an animal he would be a puma and run all day. His favorite food is meat, although he doesn't get to eat it very often. His dad is a day laborer and his mom takes care of the home.

JAVIER EDUARDO CUA REYES is enjoying Fourth-Grade and his new teacher. His favorite class is mathematics and he is excited because he knows they do algebra in Fourth-Grade. When he grows up he wants to be a soldier. If he could be an animal he would be a tiger because they are beautiful and they run fast. He has two sisters, his mom takes care of the home and his dad makes furniture to sell in the market.

JOSEPH LEVÍ CUÁ GONZÁLES loves mathematics and is excited to be in Fourth-Grade so he can learn algebra. When he grows up he wants to be a policeman. When he isn't studying he likes to play. His favorite food is fried chicken, his favorite color is blue, and his favorite animals are tigers because they can run fast. Joseph is a serious student who wants to be smart like his four older brothers. He also has a younger sister. His mom takes care of the home and his dad sews clothes to sell in the market.

HANNY LEIDY JULISSA ALONZO CUÁ is an active and lively 5th grader who wants to be a bilingual teacher when she grows up. Her favorite classes are science and English. When she isn’t studying she likes to go with her family just to walk around and visit people and other places. Her favorite color is lilac and her favorite food is fried chicken. She has one younger sister, her mom is a nurses aid, and her dad is a metal worker. She enjoys going to church and singing.

WENDY MISHEL CÁN PORÓN is an absolutely charming and delightful, yet shy, Fifth-Grader. She has no father, brothers or sisters, but her mother does all she can to take care of her. She works at any odd jobs she can find. Unfortunately, she doesn-t read or write, so that makes her life extremely difficult. But, Wendy knows she is loved. When she grows up she wants to be a doctor. Her favorite class is English, her favorite color is orange, and her favorite food is chicken. Her favorite thing to do when she isn't studying is going to visit her aunts and her cousins.

ERICK ALEXANDER CAN GABRIEL Erick is the youngest of two boys. His favorite class in Fifth-Grade is Plasticas, which is a class in which they learn how to make things in wood, metal, and plastic. When he grows up he wants to be an architect. His favorite food is cheese and his favorite color is blue. If he could be an animal he would be a dog because if he ever got lost he would always be able to find his way home. His mom takes care of the home and his dad looks for work in the fields each day. Erick is a very sweet and pleasant boy who works hard and enjoys making his teachers happy.

CRISTIAN ALEXANDER CANÚ COBOX is a quiet, shy boy in Ninth-Grade. His dad is both deaf and mute so his family have suffered greatly. His dad looks for work daily as a painter while his mom takes care of the home. Christian has two sisters and one brother. His favorite class is language. He is not yet sure what he wants to be when he grows up but he does enjoy reading and drawing. His favorite animal are dogs and his favorite food is salad. This is a very faithful and loving family with extreme needs.

ANA LIDIA JULAH BATZ has 6 sisters. She would love a brother. Her mom died a few years ago so she now has a step-mom. Her favorite class is English. But she does well in all her classes and is often on the honor roll. When she isn't studying she likes to spend time with her sisters. Her goal is to go to the United States to study to be a pediatrician. Her favorite color is purple, she loves spaghetti, and loves the trees in Guatemala. If she could be an animal she would be a dolphin because she loves the water. Other students say Ana is sweet because she smiles all the time.

LIZA MARIBEL CURRUCHICH XOCOP is an energetic girl full of life and love for it. She wants to be a doctor when she grows up. She is currently in Seventh-Grade and loves all her classes, especially mathematics and science. She lives with her grandmother because she was abandoned as a young girl. If she could be an animal she would be a cat because they are flexible. She loves Guatemala because of the beautiful scenery and its nature. She loves pizza when she can get it, and her favorite color is orange. Her good qualities she says are her happy nature and her ability to make friends while her bad quality is that she finds it hard to accept her mistakes. Her goal is to one day study in the United States.

JHENIFER MARIOLY TUY MARTÍN is so happy to be in school. She is constantly smiling because she knows the change this can make in her life. She is a very girly girl and loves all things bright and beautiful. When asked what her favorite animal is she said, the butterfly because it is pretty and colorful. She loves Guatemala because of the beautiful scenery and the volcanoes. One day she would like to study in Canada. Friends say she is always happy. Her goal is to try to never be angry. Her favorite food is hamburger and her favorite color is pink.

JULIO EDUARDO PEREN PEREZ is a 6 year old boy who lives with his mom. He doesn't have a dad or brothers and sisters. His mom struggles to find work because she can not read or write. He is in Prepa and his favorite class is PE because it gives him a chance to play with his friends. He would like to have a dog because they love people. When he isn-t studying, he likes to work and help his mom clean. Julio is a very sweet and gentle young boy who likes to laugh.

JHONY SAMUEL YOS CHOYis a charming and intelligent Fourth-Grader. His favorite class is mathematics, and when he grows up he wants to be a soccer player, but, an intelligent one. His favorite is the lion because it is beautiful and powerful. His favorite food when he can get it is fried chicken, and his favorite color is blue because it is the color of the Guatemalan flag. He has two brothers and two sisters. His mom takes care of the house and his dad is a day worker, meaning he looks for work in the camps each day.

JAVIER VELA is a First-Grader with keen interest in everything. He wants to be a fireman when he grows up, but for now his favorite class is computer. He has one older brother, his mom takes care of the home and his dad drives a bus. When he isn’t studying he likes to play and read. If he could be an animal he would be a dog because they are so nice.

ARIANA QUIÑONEZ CRUZ is a sweet happy fourth grader who enjoys math. When she isnt studying she enjoys reading. This year she wants to learn more about dinosaurs and would like to see a real one. If she could be an animal though, she would be a puma and run all day. She has two brothers and hopes for a sister one day. When she grows up she wants to be a teacher.
